Tottenham Hotspur have launched a move for Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
The Premier League side are keen on landing the 23-year-old, according to a report by the Mirror.
Leeds are facing a battle to hold onto their key midfielder this summer amid interest from the top flight. Other sides such as Aston Villa, Newcastle United and AFC Bournemouth have also been linked over recent weeks.
Spurs could now test the Whites’ resolve with a big money bid. Mauricio Pochettino’s side have already raided the Elland Road side this summer to sign winger Jack Clarke before loaning him back out for next season.
Phillips, who is from Leeds, has impressed for the Championship side over the past few years and is being tipped to make the step up to the Premier League in the near future.
The 5ft 10inc midfielder is a Whites academy graduate having risen up through their youth ranks. He made his first team debut in a second tier fixture against Wolves in April 2015.
He has since made 139 appearances for Leeds and played 44 times in the last campaign under Marcelo Bielsa to help his side get into the Play-Offs. He also got in the Championship Team of the Season.
Leeds fans will be desperate to keep hold of Phillips over the coming weeks before the campaign starts but batting away interest from Spurs could prove tough.
