4 Players that should Impress for Leeds United this Season

  1. Having burst on to the scene on the opening day of the season in 2012, and scoring a cheeky chip in his second ever first team appearance, Leeds fans thought they found one part of the answer to their constant defensive problems that they have seen since their promotion back to the Championship back in 2011.  However, a groin injury picked up late in the 2013/2013 season that ruled him out of pre-season and the start of the 2013/204 season meant that Byram couldn’t emulate the form the fans saw in his debut season.

Now that he is fully fit and raring to go for the new season he should be able to regain the form that eluded him in the last campaign.  Being a strong right back who can also play on the wing, it will be interesting to see how new boss David Hockaday uses him.  Will he be a full back or will he be running at the defences and putting in crosses for the forwards? Byram now knows this league very well and will have strengthened and matured with his time in the Championship and his performances can be vital on whether Leeds United play well or not.  He has the ability to track back and defend when needed but also has the pace to run down the wings to provide service for strikers, which is another element that has been missing from Leeds United since the sales of Robert Snodgrass and Max Gradel.  It is reported that Leeds are still looking for some wide players which would suggest that Byram will be playing his normal position of right-back, but I highly doubt that the fans will mind having Bryam playing further forward there for two seasons and making that positon his own.
