Nottingham Forest have today completed the signing of former Aston Villa man Albert Adomah as confirmed on their official website.

The winger helped the Midlands side gain promotion to the Premier League last season as they won the play-off final against Derby County.

The 31-year-old has signed a two-year-deal as a free agent following his release by Villa at the end of last season.

Adomah will now join up with Sabri Lamouchi’s squad ahead of their upcoming Championship campaign.

Forest have battled hard to capture the signing of the Ghanaian as West Bromwich Albion, Millwall and Bristol City have also been monitoring Adomah.

However, the former Villa man always favoured a move to the City Ground and he will now join and help them push higher up the table than they managed last season under their new manager.

Adomah started his career in non-league before impressing for Barnet, winning the Young Player of the Year award in 2008-09 before departing for Bristol City.

Adomah joined Middlesbrough who he helped to a second-placed Championship finish in 2015-16.

He then preceded to join Aston Villa in the 2016-17 season, assisting 11 goals in the Championship in that campaign before scoring 15 times in 2017-18 and being Villa’s top scorer as they reached the play-off final before losing out to winners Fulham.

However despite being an important player in Dean Smith’s promotion winning side last season they opted to release him ahead of their Premier League return and he has now been provided with the chance to test himself once again in the Championship.
