Nottingham Forest set to complete signing of highly-rated Aston Villa man

Nottingham Forest are set to complete the signing of Aston Villa winger Albert Adomah, as reported by Nottingham Live.

The 31-year-old winger has been subject to interest from both Nottingham Forest and West Bromwich Albion since being told he can leave Aston Villa this summer by manager Dean Smith, but it seems the former are set to win the race for the experienced wide man.

The 19-time Ghanaian international has enjoyed an illustrious career in the Football League and established himself as a dependable Championship winger during spells with Bristol City and Middlesbrough, both of whom he made over 100 appearances for.

Adomah moved to Aston Villa in 2016 as part of a swap deal that saw Adama Traore swap Villa Park for the Riverside and enjoyed an impressive first two seasons in the Midlands, even bagging 14 league goals during the 2017/18 campaign.

However, with the arrival of Yannick Bolasie and Anwar El Ghazi last season Adomah often found himself on the bench or out of favour and struggled to replicate the form of the past two seasons. The 31-year-old ended the season with just four goals from 36 appearances.

The experienced winger has now been offered a fresh by new Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi who is set to make the former Barnet man his sixth summer signing in what has been a busy week for the club.

However, whether Adomah can produce the kind of performances Football League fans have come to expect from him over the years at Forest remains to be seen.
