Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has said that there is no chance of the club signing French forward Andy Delort, according to the Yorkshire Post’s chief football writer Phil Hay.

Despite other reports linking the club with the 22-year-old Tours striker, Cellino has stated to Hay that the club is not interested in the Charlton Athletic and Brentford target. Delort has gained many admirers after finishing as the top scorer in Ligue 2 last season and has had offers from both clubs in England and France.

The club is yet to replace former captain Ross McCormack’s goals and fans will fear that unless Cellino performs a u-turn, Leeds could miss out on another prolific goalscorer.

  1. He (Cellino) said that about Delorte two weeks ago, to Hay, not yesterday. Phil Hay hasn't, by his own admission, spoken to Cellino about targets for over a week. You guys need to keep up… and stop reposting tweets out of context.
