Leeds United right-back joins League One side for a third time
Fleetwood Town have signed Lewie Coyle from Leeds United on an initial six-month loan deal, as announced by their official club website today.
The 23-year-old has put pen-to-paper with the Cod Army for the third time.
The League One side have made some impressive signings so far in this transfer window with the likes of Danny Andrew, Josh Morris and Paul Coutts already coming through the door.
Their manager, Joey Barton, is delighted to have acquired Coyle again and told their website: “We are really please to welcome Lewie back to Fleetwood Town. We know exactly what we are getting, both in terms of on the pitch and off it. He’s a great lad in the dressing room, and constantly drives the standards up every day in training.”
“He has developed so much over the last two years at the club and we look forward to what he will offer further to our group.”
Coyle, who was born in Hull, has been on the books at Leeds since he was a youngster and rose up through the youth ranks at Elland Road.
He has made 23 appearances for the Whites’ first team as well as having loan spells at Harrogate Town and Fleetwood.
The upcoming season will be the third consecutive campaign Coyle will be playing at Highbury Stadium and will be hoping to compete at the top end of League One this time around.
