Notts County have completed the signing of veteran goalkeeper Roy Carroll on a one year deal.

Carroll, previously of  Greek side Olympiakos had spent the summer on trial at the  Magpies on trial, impressing with his displays over Osasuna and Halifax.

Carroll, also formerly of Manchester United, amongst others replaces Bartosz Bialkowski, who moved to Ipswich this summer, between the posts for County and joins fellow former United player Alan Smith at Meadow Lane.

The 36 year old previously played at Hull City, Wigan Athletic, Derby County, Rangers and West Ham.

He will wear the Number 1 shirt for the forthcoming season and County fans are encouraged to welcome him on Twitter by using the hashtag ‘#welcomeroy’.
