West Brom’s deal to sign Croatian may now be ‘at risk’

West Bromwich Albion’s deal to sign Croatian Filip Krovinovic may now be ‘at risk’ according to Portuguese Outlet O Jogo.

The Championship side appeared to have beaten off competition from Premier League new boys Norwich City for the midfielder but the deal has now hit a setback.

Details of the issue haven’t fully been disclosed but the Croatian has now rejoined training with current side Benfica until the matter can be fully resolved.

Krovinovic was all set to join the Baggies on a season-long loan deal with them paying Benfica £300,000 for his services with an additional £300,000 should they win promotion next season.

However, with this latest setback being reported it could allow Norwich City to make a fresh bid for the attacking midfielder which could seriously derail West Brom’s transfer plans as they look to add some quality additions to their squad in preparation for another season in the Championship.

Transfer talks are still taking place between the two clubs and the deal isn’t yet ‘dead in the water’ but West Brom have got some serious work to do yet if they wish to bring Krovinovic to the Hawthorns.

His agent Antonio Araújo said the move was almost completed but that details were still needing to be ironed out between the Portuguese club and the Midlands based side.

It is still not yet beyond possible that Krovinovic could remain at Benfica which would surely be a disaster for all parties as both West Brom and Norwich look to improve their squads and the player clearly wanting the move.
