Lincoln City have signed for Bradford City, Blackburn Rovers and Huddersfield Town midfielder Jack Payne, confirmed by the club website.

League One side Lincoln City have signed for Bradford City, Blackburn Rovers and Huddersfield Town midfielder Jack Payne.

The 24-year-old made 39 appearances in League One for Bradford City last season, he scored nine goals and provided five assists. He managed to score on his debut for Bradford City against Shrewsbury Town on the opening day of the 2018–19 season.

Jack Payne made history at Southend United in 2015/16, becoming the first player in the Club’s history to win the Shrimpers Trust Player of the Season, Junior Blues Player of the Season and Goal of the Season prizes at the conclusion of the campaign.

That season ended in promotion to Sky Bet League 1 for Southend United, with Jack playing in the Play-Off Final and stepping up to score a penalty in the deciding shootout against Wycombe Wanderers.

Jack Payne began the 2017/18 season on loan at Oxford United before being recalled in January and subsequently joining Blackburn Rovers, collecting 10 assists and four goals in Sky Bet League 1 action for both sides.

Jack Payne spoke to the club website about his move to Lincoln City, he said: “I am really looking forward to signing here on a permanent basis, and learning more from two successful managers, who will hopefully be able to get the best out of me.

“I have trained with the lads for the last couple of days and the standard is really high, I’ve been really impressed.

“I will work hard for the team. I am creative, and hopefully I can get the fans off their seats and excite them.”
