Norwich City launch £6 million bid for Preston North End star

Norwich City have made a £6 million bid for Preston North End winger Callum Robinson.

The Canaries are keen on bringing the 24-year-old to Carrow Road this summer, according to a report by Sky Sports.

Robinson, who is a Republic of Ireland international with eight caps under his belt, scored 13 goals in all competitions last season for the Lilywhites.

Norwich are preparing for life in the Premier League next season and see him as someone who can bolster their attacking option ahead of a tough campaign ahead.

Daniel Farke’s side have so far brought in striker Josip Drmic from Borrusia Monchengladbach and winger Patrick Roberts on loan from Manchester City but are keen on getting some more deals done.

Robinson started his career at Aston Villa and rose up through the youth ranks at Villa Park. He went onto play five times for the Midlands club in the top flight.

He also had loan spells away at Bristol City and Preston before his move to Deepdale permanent in July 2016.

Robinson has since become a key player for the Lancashire side and has made 161 appearances for them, chipping in with 40 goals along the way.

There is no doubt that Preston will face a battle to hold onto him this summer amid interest from the Premier League, though they may ask for more than £6 million based on some of the transfer fees flying around in this window.
