According to the Daily Mail, Bournemouth have agreed a deal with Championship side Millwall over the sale of winger Connor Mahoney – who spent last season on loan with fellow Championship side Birmingham City.
22-year-old winger Connor Mahoney has not long been back at parent club Bournemouth this summer, returning to the Premier League club upon the expiry of his loan spell at Birmingham City. And it seems that his future at the Vitality Stadium has not taken long to resolve, with a move away on the cards.
Millwall have agreed a deal with Bournemouth to sign Mahoney ahead of the 2019/20 Championship season, with talks over personal terms set to take place soon. Neil Harris is looking to bring in some new faces ahead of the new season, with names such as Bartosz Bialkowski and Jamal Lowe linked with a move to The Den.
Mahoney’s first-team chances with Bournemouth are slim and having struggled to make an impact on the Cherries’ first-team since joining from Blackburn Rovers, he looks set to make a move away, with Millwall his proposed destination.
Mahoney spent the 2018/19 season on loan at St Andrew’s with Birmingham and after struggling to make an impact in the early stages, the 22-year-old fought hard and performed well, earning a place in the starting eleven. He played in 32 games for the club across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing four assists along the way.
Now, he will be hoping to make a good impression at Millwall – should he make the move – as Neil Harris looks to take the club from strength to strength after staving off relegation once again.
