Stoke City and Aston Villa transfer target on the brink of Premier League switch

The Daily Mail has reported that the completion of Luton Town full-back James Justin’s move to Premier League side Leicester City is imminent.

It has been widely reported over the course of the past few months that Luton Town full-back James Justin is on the radar of a number of top clubs after a highly impressive 2019/20 campaign. Newly promoted Aston Villa and Championship side Stoke City have been keen to bring Justin in this summer, but they look like they have missed out on the defender’s signature.

He is now on the brink of making a move to Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City, The Foxes will reportedly pay £6 million up front to secure Justin ahead of the new season, with the deal including add-ons and performance-based incentives to increase the overall fee.

Leicester City plan for Justin to be in and around the club’s first-team picture at the King Poer Stadium to compete for a place in the starting eleven. Despite that, it has been said that some Championship sides could look to bring in the full-back on loan for the new campaign.

The 21-year-old played 52 times for Luton across all competitions in a highly successful season at Kenilworth Road. Playing at both left-back and right-back under the management of Nathan Jones and Mick Harford, Justin scored three goals and provided nine assists for his teammates as Luton went on to win promotion to the Championship, winning the league title in doing so.

Now, it seems highly unlikely that he will be adding to that total, but Luton fans will be left with good memories of Justin as he makes his move to the Premier League.
