Some of the rumours circulating around Elland Road this summer are, quite frankly, outrageous. But the rumour that has emerged this morning may just top the lot.

Leeds have already been linked with a few notable players that it would be achievable to bring to the club this summer, the likes of Helder Costa, Ryan Kent and Jamal Lowe being mentioned.

However, with the following rumours surfacing, it is starting to become a little bit of a circus in West Yorkshire.

Leeds, in recent days, have been linked with Dimitri Payet from Marseille and Gianluigi Buffon who has been recently released by PSG.

This mornings rumour wins though, with Sport Witness reporting that Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani has offered Francesco Totti the chance to play at Elland Road.

Former Italy International Marco Borriello has claimed he had spent time with Totti in Spain this summer following the Roma legend leaving his role within the club and said the following…

“I know that a great leader of an English team has made him a proposal to go back to playing football. Radrizzani of Leeds? I don’t know.”

Make of that what you will, but if rumours of this ilk carry on, Leeds could find themselves with a team full of legends next season, here’s a totally serious and by no means sarcastic look at what their starting line up could look like next season…

  • GK- Grobbelaar
  • RB- Cafu
  • CB- Jansson
  • CB- Maldini
  • LB- Carlos
  • DCM- Phillips
  • CM- Iniesta
  • CM- Hernandez

Unbelievable side I’m sure you would agree?

Now if Radrizzani can actually persuade the 42-year-old Italian legend to play football again, at Leeds United, then it would be the craziest thing I’ve seen since I saw Edgar Davids donning a Barnet jersey,

Perhaps the lack of actual activity at Elland Road so far is making journalists much more sporadic in their reports, or maybe its a case that silly season is officially in full swing?

What do the supporters think? Would you like to see a bit of Totti at Leeds next season?
