Stoke City are plotting a £2 million move for Luton Town right-back Jack Stacey.
Scottish Premiership side Celtic are also being linked with a move for him, as per a report by the Scottish Sun.
The Potters’ boss Nathan Jones knows Stacey well from managing him at Kenilworth Road and now wants to bring him to the Bet365 Stadium.
Stacey, who is from London, has played a huge part in Luton’s back-to-back promotions from League Two to the Championship over the past two seasons. He has a year left on his contract with the Hatters.
He started his career at Reading and rose up through the youth ranks at the Madejski Stadium. He made his first-team debut for the Royals in a Championship fixture against Ipswich Town in August 2014.
Stacey went onto play five more times for their senior side and also had loan spells in the lower leagues with Barnet, Carlisle United and Exeter City to gain some experience.
Jones signed him for Luton in June 2017 for an undisclosed fee and he has since made 95 appearances for them in all competitions, chipping in with five goals.
The Hatters will face a battle to hold onto their key defender this summer with Jones looking to turn to a familiar face. Graeme Jones’ side are hoping to keep hold of their best players over the coming months and bring in some reinforcements to prepare for the Championship adequately.
