Sammy Ameobi Joins Nottingham Forest

Winger Sammy Ameobi has joined Nottingham Forest on a one year deal after leaving Bolton Wanderers.

The 27-year-old left Bolton Wanderers as he was out of contract with the new League One side. Ameobi, started his career playing for his hometown club Newcastle United, also having loan spells at Middlesbrough and Cardiff, Sammy matured into a great winger.

During last season with Bolton, Ameobi scored a total of eight goals from the wing and provided many assists, however even though Ameobi helped massively he couldn’t stop them from being relegated. Over his career, Ameobi has played a total of 183 games and scored only 15 goals, eight of those coming last season.

However, Ameobi makes up for a lack of goals with great interplay and wing play. 27-year-old Ameobi is quite quick allowing him to make runs down the wing and cross the ball to the strikers hoping for a headed goal.

He is an experienced, mature and skillful winger, he can inject pace into the game whenever he wants. He is a nightmare for the opposition defenders and I think this will help Nottingham Forest next season.

Forest will be looking to improve on their mid table finish from last season, and hope to push on to try and claim a play-off spot.

Overall I think that Ameobi will be a great signing for Nottingham Forest, and may even help guide them to a play-off spot, along with gaining assists to the strikers such as Lewis Grabban and Daryl Murphy.
