The former England and Nigeria youth international will now join up with Martin O’Neill’s side and step up a level to the Championship from League One Bolton.

Ameobi scored four goals and created four assists for Bolton last season and adds to the striking options available for Forest as O’Neill looks to bolster his forward line for the upcoming season.

He is also a versatile player as he is able to play up front as well as being a striker although his favoured position is out on the wing.

Nottingham Forest finished in ninth place in the Championship last season but with Martin O’Neill now firmly in place as manager he is hoping to add to his first summer signing with plenty more additions before the season gets underway.

Ameobi is known for his pace and direct style of play and can cause defenders real problems in the final third. He has struggled to find consistency so far in his career but a move to the City Ground could be just what he needs to showcase his skills.
