Celtic tussling with Scottish Premiership rivals for Derby County full-back

Celtic are interested in Derby County defender Max Lowe.

The Scottish Premiership champions will join Rangers and Aberdeen in the race to sign him, as per a report by Derbyshire Live.

Neil Lennon’s side are looking to bring in another left-back this summer with Kieran Tierney being linked with a move to Arsenal.

Lowe, who is 22-years-old, spent last season on loan in the SPL with Aberdeen and impressed for Derek McInnes’ side. They are keen on re-signing him this summer but will have to bat away competition to land him.

Rangers have also been credited with an interest. Steven Gerrard is believed to be a big fan of Lowe’s. The Ibrox club have so far signed Sheyi Ojo from Liverpool and George Edmundson from Oldham Athletic as they aim to battle with Celtic for the title next season.

Lowe started his career at Derby and rose up through the youth ranks at Pride Park. He made his first-team debut for the Rams in a League Cup tie against Carlisle United in August 2016.

He has since made 16 more appearances in all competitions for Derby having found it hard to make the left-back spot his own due to strong competition.

Lowe gained some senior experience on loan at League One side Shrewsbury Town during the 2017/18 season and helped them get to the Play-Off final.

He then enjoyed his spell at Aberdeen in the last campaign and could be on his way back up to Scotland this summer.
