Leeds United striker posts Instagram message ahead of preseason start

For Leeds United fans, since their heartbreaking defeat to Derby County at Elland Road in the Play-off Semi-Final, it’s been a diet of transfer rumour and wondering just what the upcoming season will bring.

The Whites take a step closer to that tomorrow with the players due to report back from their summer holidays and get down to the business of pre-season – the second one under Areentine legend Marcelo Bielsa. Last season’s pre-season was hard on the players, but at least they’ll return this time knowing what’s in store for them.

Kemar Roofe will be returning, and he certainly knows that it will not be a walk in the park. In a post earlier on social media site Instagram, Whites striker Roofe posted the following.

The recharge is complete 🔋 and back to business tomorrow ⚽️🔥 . #LUFC #MOT

A post shared by Kemar Roofe (@roofe) on

Roofe was Leeds United’s leading scorer last season, netting 15 times in an injury-hit campaign where he featured just 33 times for the Whites. Under Marcelo Bielsa’s tutelage, United fans really began to see flashes of that brilliance that has marked him out as an assest for the West Yorkshire club.

Fans are chomping at the bit in more than one respect when it comes to pre-season training tomorrow morning. On one hand, yes they are eager to see players such as Kemar Roofe return to the fold, but they are also eager to see just who else the Whites will be bringng in to hopefully mount a successful promotion charge this time.

Those aforementioned rumours have really sparked conversation amongst Leeds United fans. Realistic ones regarding Helder Costa have been put forward alongside frankly ridiculous ones that Gianluigi Buffon is trotting on down. If the latter proves true, I’ll be off down the local bookie’s to put a pony on Leeds winning promotion.
