Che Adams is on the wanted list by Southampton, Burnley and Crystal Palace with The Sun reporting that current bids fall short of his valuation.
Adams played 46 games for Birmingham last season scoring a massive 22 goals and even laying on five assists for his team mates, this kind of form is going to attract interest from clubs in higher divisions unless his current team achieve great things. Southampton are the only club who have apparently tabled an offer, but at £14m, that falls short of Birmingham’s £16m valuation of the player.
Unfortunately for The Blues, their season fizzled out in mid-table mediocrity following a points deduction for one of their fans attacking Jack Grielish during a tie, just as they were making an assault on The Championship play-off spots. Adams form last time out is now the catalyst for Premier League interest and time will tell if Birmingham can withstand that interest.
The Midlands outfit’s position has been weakened further by the sacking of manager Gary Monk, a surprise announcement that came to light in the last forty eight hours and all the uncertainty may see Adams (22) look to play his football elsewhere in the future.
With the quality he showed last season it’s easy to see the reason so many clubs would be looking at the Leicester-born striker, with his powerful physique, his never-say-die attitude, his tireless work rate and his undoubted eye for goal, he will be a fantastic purchase for any club in the top end of the Championship or any Premier League club outside the top six and with him being only twenty two, he could and should only get better.
Would you take Che Adams at your club would be a question a neutral would ask. The answer from many would be a loud yes.
