Bristol City and Derby County have both agreed for a friendly to be played in Florida during both teams visits. Both clubs are at Tampa Bay on a preseason tour to get the players in shape and match ready.

The Robins announced this as the first game of the tour in America along with Derby, 2 teams who battled it out for the final play-off spot last season. Derby narrowly won the fight for 6th place which also involved Middlesbrough.

Both teams have lost players in this transfer window, for Bristol City that includes Lloyd Kelly to Bournemouth for a massive £13 million. Derby have lost players such as Fikayo Tomori who was on loan to the rams from Chelsea.

Similarly, Bristol City have lost 3 Chelsea loan players; Jay Da Silva, Kasey Palmer, and Tomas Kalas. However, Lee Johnson is hopeful that City can persuade them to come back and sign on a permanent basis.

Overall it seems strange that both clubs are travelling all the way to America to play a friendly, although I am sure that both teams will set up friendlies against American opposition. By this time I am sure there will be plenty of transfers that have been completed for both teams.
