Striker Macauley Bonne has signed with Charlton Athletic for an undisclosed fee. Bonne played 90 games for Leyton Orient in two seasons, over that period he scored 45 goals, one every two games.
Charlton are looking to keep themselves in the Championship in the upcoming season which will be tough with the likes of Fulham and Cardiff being relegated from the Premier League.
Macauley Bonne is a clinical goalscorer as he proved for Leyton Orient, however in four years at Colchester he only managed to net seven goals in 75 appearances for the club. Maybe though Bonne has found his feet and become more mature in the game.
Charlton will be looking for survival in the Championship and I think that Macauley Bonne will be a good addition and strike partner to join Lyle Taylor in attack. 45 goals in 90 games is a very good goals-to-game ratio. Also, at 23, who knows how good the Zimbabwean international could be.
Whilst at Leyton Orient, Bonne contributed in 103 games and helped them to becoming the champions of the National League last season. Although it is a big step up, Bonne has the opportunity to become a fantastic player and maybe one day even feature in the Premier League!
