Japanese side Gamba Osaka have made a formal approach to Leeds United to take their out of favour Japan International midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi back to his former club and motherland – reports Yahoo Japan.

The 22-year-old has had a torrid time at Elland Road, not making a senior appearance and eventually being sent to Cultural Leonesa, where he made only five appearances for a side that were relegated from the second tier of Spanish football.

Following this he went to German Second Division side Greuther Furth, where a cruciate ligament injury restricted him to only eight appearances.

Following YouTube footage pf the midfielder circulating, as it does, when Leeds signed him FROM Gamba Osaka in January 2018, the Leeds fans were excited by the prospect, but, it didn’t quite work out for him with Marcelo Bielsa allowing the player out on loan almost immediately after taking over.

Losing Ideguchi is seen as something of a formality at Leeds, along with a few more players who have failed to catch Bielsa’s eye, namely Hadi Sacko, Eunan O’Kane, Vernon Anita, Laurens De Bock and Pawel Cibicki.

Its an unfortunate scenario for the young man from Japan, but these things happen in football and cutting the wages bill and streamlining the squad would be a good thing for Leeds and would be something that their Argentinian Manager would insist upon.
