Stoke City eyeing up move for QPR midfielder

Stoke City are interested in QPR midfielder Jordan Cousins.

The Potters are keen on bolstering their midfield options by landing the 25-year-old, as per a report by the Daily Mail.

Nathan Jones’ side are getting busy in the transfer window and are also trying to sign Barnsley defender Liam Lindsay. They are also after the Tykes’ ‘keeper Adam Davies, Wigan Athletic’s Nick Powell and Millwall striker Lee Gregory as they reshape their squad in preparation for next season.

Cousins, who is a former England Under-20 international, is a new name to be linked with Stoke. He made 33 appearances for Championship side QPR last season in all competitions, chipping in with a single goal.

The London-born midfielder started his career at Charlton Athletic and rose up through the youth ranks at the Valley. He went onto play 136 times for the Addicks and scored seven times.

QPR swooped to sign him in July 2016 and he has since been a regular starter for the Hoops, playing 70 games.

Cousins is an experienced second tier player and would offer Stoke with more depth and options in the middle of the park.

It is an exciting summer ahead for Potters’ fans as their side look to mount a promotion push in the next campaign. It was a poor campaign for them last term and this overhaul in their squad shows that a lot of work is being put in by Jones to try and make things right.
