Good news for Nottingham Forest as Manchester City sanction departure of loan target

A report from the Daily Mail has said that Manchester City will allow young goalkeeper Arijanet Muric to leave the club on loan this summer, with Championship side Nottingham Forest keen on the 20-year-old.

Arijanet Muric is highly rated at Manchester City and in order to give him some more first-team football, they will allow him to leave the club on loan for the 2019/20 season.

It was reported earlier this week that Nottingham Forest were among the sides keen to bring Muric in for the season and their hopes of bringing him in will have been boosted by this latest development.

After keeping a close eye on Muric in Kosovo’s international match against Bulgaria, Martin O’Neill is ready to bring the ‘keeper to Nottingham Forest.

With first-team chances at Manchester City highly unlikely next season, Muric will head out to gather some much-needed first-team minutes next season. Claudio Bravo’s return from injury makes him the club’s second choice goalkeeper behind Brazilian star Ederson, who has hardly been dislodged since his arrival.

Muric played five times for Manchester City last season, with all of his appearances coming in the EFL Cup, keeping four clean sheets in their run to the final, where they defeated Chelsea on penalties.

The youngster is highly regarded at the Etihad Stadium and has continued to grow in the club’s youth sides since joining from Swiss side Grasshopper in 2015. He spent a short time on loan at NAC Breda last season, playing in just one game for the club before returning to England after an injury to Claudio Bravo early on during his stint with the Dutch side.
