According to a tweet from Alan Nixon (below), Leeds United’s interest in Liverpool winger Harry Wilson could be rekindled after the Reds decision to make him available to a Premier League on loan.
LIVERPOOL. Will loan Harry Wilson to a Prem club. Sale would be 15m or so. LEEDS and DERBY back of chase as it stands. VILLA interest to be watched …

Obviously, there are two possible obstacles to either side landing the talented Anfield forward. One, the fact that Liverpool are willing to loan to a Premier League club, and two, that a £15m price tag has been placed on the youngster’s head.
Taking the latter first, neither Leeds United nor Derby County will have the financial clout to land him on a permanent deal, what with the confines of FFP regulations gnawing ever more closely. That would leave just the loan option, itself an obstacle what with a Premier League marker placed down by Liverpool.
Wislon spent last season on loan at Derby County, the 22-year-old Wrexham-born Wales international more than impressing whilst at Pride Park. His 40 games in the Sky Bet Championship brought about an impressive 15-goal haul for the youngster plus three assists.
It is that output, plus a goal and assist in Derby’s play-off run, that really opened possible suitors eyes to him. However, it is a double-edged sword in that has likely priced both Championship sides out of a permanent deal.
However, Nixon’s asseriton that Aston Villa are also watching could throw a big spanner into the works for either Leeds or Derby’s hopes of bringing Wilson in on a loan, should they be able to swing one from Liverpool. The Villans, backed by promotion and Premier League money, would have both barrels loaded should they wish to take a shot at Harry Wilson.
