Leeds United starlet to accompany world champion boxer on ring-walk

IBF World Champion Boxer Josh Warrington is to be accompanied on his ring walk for his fight against Kid Galahad tomorrow night by youth sensation Jamie Shackleton.

Leeds United themselves tweeted the news this evening with the 19 year old midfielder set to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Vinnie Jones, Lucas Radebe, Jermaine Beckford, Gaetano Berardi and Liam Cooper in walking the 28 year old Leeds United fan to the ring.

Warrington, who has 28 wins from 28 fights, is a huge Leeds fan and uses the clubs anthem, “Marching on Together”, as his ring walk music, along with “I predict a Riot” by Leeds based Kaiser Chiefs (also Leeds fans) and likes to include members of the squad in his continued success.

Jamie Shackleton broke into Leeds’ first team reckoning this season following excellent form in the U23’s and has won a place in the hearts of the fans already with his energetic and direct style, he will be watering at the mouth at the prospect of walking a World Champion into the ring and also having more of a platform to showcase his talents for Leeds next season, as will the fans.

The fight is happening at The First Direct Arena in Leeds tomorrow night and will be Warringtons 10th fight in Leeds in his last 12 bouts, it will be like a Leeds home game with the support he will receive from the Leeds fans, a huge advantage I’m sure.

Will Warrington continue his success and will Shackleton push on from this seasons excellent start? Exciting times ahead in Leeds.
