Leeds United are closing in on a loan deal for Brighton and Hove Albion defender Ben White.
The 21-year-old is set to spend next season at Elland Road, as per a report by Football Insider.
The Whites’ boss Marcelo Bielsa is keen to tighten up his defence ahead of the next campaign and White fits the bill for his side. The youngster can play as either a centre-back or right-back and is being tipped for a big future in the game.
White spent the latter half of last season on loan in League One with Peterborough United and impressed in the 16 appearances he made for the Posh in all competitions.
The Poole-born defender joined Brighton as a youngster and rose up through the youth ranks there. He made his senior debut for the Seagulls in an EFL Cup tie against Colchester United in August 2016 and has since played once more for them.
White spent the 2017/18 season on loan in League Two with Newport County and played 52 times for Michael Flynn’s to gain some first-team experience.
It is expected to be a busy summer at Leeds as Bielsa’s side look to bounce back from their Play-Off disappointment of the last campaign and go for promotion again.
White will offer the Yorkshire side more options and depth in defence which will come in handy in another 46-game season in the Championship.
