Former Leeds United loanee wants Elland Road return – Whites keen too

Football Insider has said that Manchester City winger Jack Harrison is keen to return to Leeds United for the 2019/20 season, with the Championship club also keen on a reunion.

Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay has said recently (see below) that a Leeds United return for last season’s loanee Jack Harrison is “likely”, and a report from Football Insider has reiterated that a deal is likely, revealing that the player is also keen to come back to Elland Road for next season.

It was claimed that Leeds could be looking to bring Harrison back on a permanent basis with him being down the pecking order at the Premier League champions, who have likes of Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Leroy Sane and Bernardo Silva available to play out white. However, those reports were quickly dismissed once it was revealed that the Englishman would cost the club £15 million.

Harrison’s first loan spell at Elland Road was fairly underwhelming, playing 42 games for Leeds United in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing four assists. But, Marcelo Bielsa is keen for Harrison to return this summer as he is confident he can help the former New York City winger develop into a valuable player for the club, and Jack Harrison is also eager to return to Leeds.

Leeds have been linked with a number of wingers in the early stages of the summer transfer window with Bielsa looking to strengthen his side ahead of another promotion push next season. Leeds have been linked with Liverpool duo Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent – the latter of whom has reportedly turned down a loan move to Elland Road.

When Bielsa first arrived at Leeds, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said that he would be willing to help out the Argentine by loaning some of City’s top talents to the Whites. A return loan move for Harrison this summer could hint that the Spaniard is open to doing so once again.
