Leeds United in “likely” Inter Milan loan talks – five possibilities

Humdrum. Mundane. Nondescript. Leeds United don’t ever tend to stick to that triptych when it comes to transfer windows and transfer dealings.

In fact, club owner Andrea Radrizzani has already forewarned Whites fans not to expect much when it comes to this current window. He’s said that the club will run a ‘difficult’ window this time, as the realities of FFP regulation nibble away at the purse strings  of clubs.

Leeds United are no different to any other club in that respect, profligacy and wild abandon need to be reigned in somewhat. Radrizzani has been upfront that the Whites will have to sell to buy and that the loan market will need to be utilised.

It is hoped that any use of the loan market by Leeds United will be better than last season where only Manchester City loanee Jack Harrison had anything that could be considered an impact. However, news coming through earlier could just cast a little more interest into any loan dealings the Whites might be intending to run with.

In that article, Lorenzo Tonetti, who is described as Andrea Radrizzani’s “intermediary and right hand” has been spotted at Inter Milan’s headquarters in a report originally carried by website FC Inter 1908. They end their article by saying that Tonetti was most likely there to talk loan deals for young Inter players.

Shoud that be the case, then Leeds United fans will have every right to get excited at potential deals that could come out of such talks. Here’s five young Inter players that could be on United’s loan agenda should nothing concrete develop from these talks.

Five young Inter Milan players that Leeds United could bring to the Sky Bet Championship

Thomas Schiro: Schiro is a current Italy Under-19 international with four caps to his  name. By trade, he’s a midfielder-cum-defensive midfielder and featured in 27 games for Inter MIlan’s youth side last season, scoring three goals ad adding three assists. He also featured five times in the UEFA Youth League for the young Nerazzurri last season, a season where he notched up 40 games in total.

Facunda Colidio: 19-year-old Argentinian Colidio is highly thought of at Inter. The Italian gains paid a very tasty £8.5million to bring him over to Europe from Boca Juniors in his native Argentina. Although he has dual Argentinian/Italian nationality, he has chosen to represent Argentina, the country of his birth. To press, he has nine Argentina Under-20 caps and has scored three goals in his fledgling international career. Last season he was in and amongst the goals for Inter Milan primavera, their youth set-up. In 20 youth games he scored five goals and provided four assists; he also added five more goals in five UEFA Youth League appearances.

Felipe D’Amico: 18-year-old D’Amico is an exciting left-winger with more than an eye for goal. He turned out in 18 Primavera youth games last season, scoring six goals and providing four assists. He is a current six-cap Italy Under-18 international and has scored four goals across that half-dozen games. He spent last season out on loan at Chievo Verona youth, showing that he has experience of a loan out from Milan.

Nicholas Rizzo: 19-year-old Brazilian/Italian Rizzo featured in 29 games for Inter Milan’s Under-19s last season, scoring one goal. He is a centre-back by trade and can play in both central defensive positions. He’s also earned his international call-up this year, turning out for Italy’s Under-19s. With United being somewhat short of cover at the back, brining in Rizzo could be a good insurance policy.

Tibo Persyn: Persyn is a 17-year-old right sided midfield player who started out his football career in his native Belgium with Club Brugge. He featured in 26 games for Inter Milan Primavera last season, 16 of these in the youth league. In the Primavera 1 competition, he scored two goals and provided three assists. He s also highly decorated internationally with 19 caps for Belgium’s Under-17 side.
