Rotherham United’s bid for Scottish midfielder turned down

According to HITC Sport, Rotherham United have had a bid rejected for Ross County midfielder Jamie Lindsay.

Rotherham United are looking to bring in some new faces ahead of their return to League One in the 2019/20 campaign. And, it has now been claimed that they have had a bid for Ross County midfielder Jamie Lindsay.

However, despite being knocked back with their first reported attempt to tempt Lindsay to Rotherham United this summer, the Millers are likely to return with another offer. HITC Sport says that Paul Warne is “desperate” to sign Lindsay this summer after a strong season with Ross County in Scotland.

But, it is likely that the 23-year-old will not come on the cheap, with the Scottish outfit determined to keep a hold of him this season.

Lindsay played 49 times for Ross County across all competitions in the 2018/19 season, scoring an impressive nine goals and providing four assists from central midfield, as the club finished top of the pile in the Scottish Championship, winning promotion to the top tier.

Lindsay started his career in the youth academy at Celtic, heading out on loan spells with Dumbarton, Greenock Morton and Ross County – who he went on to join permanently, Lindsay has played 80 times for Ross County since first joining.

Warne could be looking at Lindsay as a potential option to bring in if they lose midfielder Will Vaulks this summer. Vaulks only recently extended his stay at the club, but with a number of Championship sides keen on the Wales international, he could be tempted away from the club this summer.
