Former Leeds United starlet a €10m target for AC Milan

Leeds United fans were left spitting feathers and cursing the club’s management when starlet midfielder Ronaldo Vieira moved to Serie A side Sampdoria for a fee of around £6m.

There’ll be even more feather spitting going on if Italian source La Gazetta dello Sport are to be believed. In an article discussing the gap left in the AC Milan midfield with Tiémoué Bakayoko’s return to Chelsea after his loan deal at the San Siro, Gazetta say that Vieira is an option for the Rossoneri.

Vieira signed for Leeds United after a successful trial whilst he was a part of the i2i Academy in York. The powerfully-built Guinean-Bissau midfielder soon began to shine for the Under-18s at Elland Road, and was promoted to the first team.

During his time at Elland Road, the midfielder continued to put on confident display after confident display and was both turning heads and catching eyes. He featured 71 times for Leeds United, scoring two goals and adding four assists, before his surprise capture by Serie A side Sampdoria.

His time in Italy has seen him feature in just 14 Serie A and one Coppa Italia game for the Blucerchiati – his 15 total appearances bringing about just 678 minutes of action. Still, it is enough to catch the attention of AC Milan.

La Gazzetta say that Milan have cast their eye to Vieira as a possible option and say that “to bring him to Milanello 10 million would be enough” although they do add that “giving him the keys to the Milan midfield” would be something of a risk for the Italian outfit.
