Leeds United interested in Manchester City winger that’s not Jack Harrison
Leeds United are interested in signing Manchester City’s Brandon Barker according to a report from Football Insider.
The 22-year-old winger, who has been capped eight times by the England U20s, has come through the Manchester City academy and has been seen was one of the top players to come through their youth system since the heavy investment in it. He has never made a league appearance for Manchester City but has had loan spells at Rotherham United, Dutch side NAC Breda, Hibernian and most recently Preston North End.
Next time Barker might be heading to West Yorkshire as Leeds are interested in signing him. The Whites have got history with signing wingers from Manchester City having brought in Jack Harrison from them last season and while they are still interested in signing him, they are now hoping to sign Barker as well due them wanting to sign two wingers this summer. Even though Barker only has a year left on his current deal, it will still be a loan but this is still something that Leeds would be interested in.
Barker is definitely a great young talent that should be able to make the break through some way even if he isn’t able to manage it at Manchester City. Leeds probably do have an eye on his contract expiring next summer even though they may still have to pay a compensation fee should they decide to go that route. But other teams may join the race if Leeds take their time completing this deal.
