Hull City to take on Leyton Orient in Marbella pre-season friendly?

Hull City travel to Marbella for pre-season training from Sunday 7th July until Saturday 13th July.

However, despite announcing the plans for the trip on 18th April, the club are still yet to announce who and where they will be playing their one or two friendlies that week.

Newly-promoted League Two side Leyton Orient will be training in Marbella during the same week as Hull and announced on their Twitter account yesterday that they will be playing a higher division side, meaning it is a possibility they could face up against the Tigers.

Orient are looking forward to being back in the Football League next season after winning the National League title. Justin Edinburgh’s side will use their Spain trip as preparation for their return. The O’s are yet to sign anyone in the transfer window but are expected to.

Hull, on the other hand, will be eager to tie down manager Nigel Adkins on a new contract before heading out to the Costa Del Sol.

The Championship side have spent pre-season in Portugal over the past two years so the trip to Marbella will be a welcome change for them. They have locked horns with the likes of Benfica, Maritimo and Braga in friendlies over the past two years.

Hull fans have been frustrated with the club’s delay in announcing fixtures but with Leyton Orient out in Spain at the same time, could the two Football League sides be facing each other on Tuesday 9th July?
