Three released Burnley players that would be good signings for EFL sides

While more money is being spent in the Sky Bet Championship than ever, the free agency market is still very important.

Even though so many teams spent a lot of money last year, the man who was voted as the best player in the EFL was Teemu Pukki, a free transfer. So any team really wanting to improve their squad will need to scour all the free agents available as that’s where they could get some very important players.

So let’s give them a helping hand and see which players Burnley have released this summer which would be a good signing for a team in the EFL.

Stephen Ward

Ward is fairly well-known having played for Wolves for seven years and then Burnley for another five years. But his time at Turf Moor is over and even though he is 33-years-old, he feels like he would be a useful signing for someone towards the bottom of the Championship. His experience would be very handy and he’s still a solid player at the left-back position.

Anders Lindegaard

Lindegaard will always get work on the basis of being a former Manchester United player, though his last few years have been very poor. I still think he’s worth a shot for most teams in the Championship. He is a very capable goalkeeper and if he gets the right coaching to bring his confidence back up, a team will have their number one for the next few years.

Tinashe Chakwana

Most of the releases from the Premier League are youngsters who struggled to break through into their first team. Chakwana is one player that many thought might break into the Clarets first team because of his form for the youth team but they decided to release him. His pace would be very dangerous in Sky Bet League 2 and I wouldn’t be shocked if whoever signed him sold him on for big money later down the line.
