Peterborough United secure Bristol City striker in record “seven-figure” transfer deal

Bristol City striker Mo Eisa has made the move to join League One side Peterborough United for a record transfer fee, chairman and co-owner Darragh MacAnthony has confirmed.

Peterborough United have completed the signing of striker Mo Eisa from Championship side Bristol City for a club record transfer fee, it has been confirmed on Saturday morning.

Posh chairman and co-owner Darragh MacAnthony posted a video on Twitter with Eisa confirming the arrival of the 24-year-old on a four-year deal, saying:

Upon the announcement, Eisa spoke to Peterborough United’s official website, revealing that he had a number of sides interest in him, but it was Posh who wanted him the most.

“Peterborough wanted me the most, they showed the most interest me and showed how serious they were to get the deal done. I met the chairman and the manager and they have shown nothing but love for me and that is what I need.

“I know all about the strikers that have scored goals for Peterborough in the past and hopefully I can do that here. I want to score goals, but I am not selfish, it is about the team and the team’s objective is to get to the Championship and I want to help the team in that goal. I am looking forward to getting started.”

Posh were heavily interested in Eisa during the summer transfer window last summer, having four bids rejected for the striker after an electric campaign with Cheltenham Town. Now, the club have finally got their man.

He joined a list of strong Posh signings this summer, following Mark Beevers, Serhat Tasdemir, Frazer Blake-Tracy, Dan Butler and Christy Pym through the door at London Road. The arrival of Eisa on a long-term contract for a club record fee is a big statement from The Posh, who will be hoping to challenge for promotion next season.
