Norwich City set to sign Manchester City winger – deal agreed and medical completed

Journalist Pete O’Rourke as reported that Championship winners Norwich City have agreed a deal to sign Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts on loan for the 2019/20 Premier League season.

Norwich City are on the brink of completing the signing of Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts on loan ahead of next season, journalist Pete O’Rourke has said.

O’Rourke postedthe news on Twitter on Wednesday night, confirming that a deal had been agreed and that Roberts has already completed a medical to join the Carrow Road outfit. He said:

“Norwich have agreed a deal to sign Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts on loan. Roberts has passed a medical at Carrow Road and will become the club’s first signing since winning promotion to the Premier League.”

The winger will come in to provide Daniel Farke with another option out wide, also providing some competition for Onel Hernandez and Emi Buendia, who starred over the course of the season.

Roberts came through the youth academy with Fulham and went on to break into the Cottagers’ first-team. He played 22 times for the club before making a move to Manchester City in 2015. In his time with Manchester City, he has played just three games for the first-team, spending the majority of his time with the club out on loan.

The 22-year-old has spent two enjoyable spells with Celtic, where he played 78 times, scoring 18 goals and laying on 26 assists for his teammates. Roberts spent the 2018/19 season on loan in Spain with Girona, but struggled to make an impact.

Now, he will be hoping to return to his best for Norwich in their first season back in the Premier League since 2016
