Hull City boss Nigel Adkins’ future still up in the air at the KCOM Stadium

Hull City boss Nigel Adkins is still yet to commit his future to the Tigers.

The 54-year-old is out-of-contract at the KCOM Stadium next month, along with his assistant Andy Crosby.

Adkins, who joined Hull in December 2017, has been offered a new contract by the club’s owners, the Allams, but is still yet to sign it as negotiations continue between the two parties.

Three weeks have passed since the end of the season and Hull are no closer to establishing whether Adkins will be at the helm again in the next campaign.

Adkins has done an impressive job under difficult circumstances with the Tigers. He guided them to safety in the Championship in his first season at the club after he replaced Leonid Slutsky in the hotseat.

Last summer was tough for Hull with the likes of Abel Hernandez, Allan McGregor and Seb Larsson and the Tigers really struggled during the opening couple of months of last season and were languishing in the relegation zone.

However, Adkins managed to steer his side up the table and Hull were even in with a shout of the Play-Offs with a couple of months to go but eventually fell away.

This summer is likely to be tough again with players such as David Marshall and Frazier Campbell out-of-contract and key-man Jarrod Bowen expected to depart. Adkins’ staying all depends on whether he has the appetite to work under the poisonous Allam regime again.
