Leeds United and Derby County keen on Scottish hotshot – but Rangers lead the chase

A report from TEAMtalk has claimed that Championship pair Leeds United and Derby County are both interested in Kilmarnock striker Eamonn Brophy, along with Scottish Premiership side Rangers.

Scottish Premiership outfit Rangers are reportedly interested in signing Kilmarnock striker Eamonn Brophy this summer, as are Championship duo Leeds United and Derby County.

Both Leeds and Derby will be preparing for another season in the Championship this summer after they both suffered heartbreak in the play-offs. The duo will both be looking to bring in new faces this summer, one of which that has caught their eye is Eamonn Brophy.

Brophy has managed a 12-goal haul in the Scottish Premiership this season but has had form hit by injury problems over the course of the season.

If Leeds and Derby want to make their move to bring Brophy to the Championship, they will have to make their move soon. TEAMtalk claims that Rangers are ready to make their move for the Killie striker this summer, with Steven Gerrard ready to move on Alfredo Morelos, who is attracting transfer interest of his own.

Leeds were linked with a move for Brophy in the January transfer window, but he ended up remaining in Scotland with Kilmarnock. He struggled to reinvent the form which saw him catch the eyes of United in the second half of the season, with a knee injury keeping him out of action in two separate stints on the sidelines.

Brophy has earned a call-up to the recent Scotland senior squad, with former Kilmarnock boss bringing him into the squad for his first games as Scotland boss.
