The Sun journalist Alan Nixon has reported on Twitter that Middlesbrough are keen on a free transfer deal for Danish international defender Jonas Knudsen, who was recently released by newly relegated Ipswich Town.
Championship side Middlesbrough are lining up a move for Danish international left-back Jonas Knudsen, who has recently been released by newly relegated Ipswich Town. Journalist Alan Nixon tweeted the news on Sunday morning (see below).

Knudsen departed Ipswich Town at the end of the season after four years at Portman Road. His exit was confirmed at the end of a difficult season for the Tractor Boys upon the expiry of his contract.
Middlesbrough will be in the market for a new left-back after Sam McQueen’s loan deal from Premier League side Southampton expired at the end of the season.
Knudsen comes with plenty of Championship experience, having played for Ipswich for four seasons. The left-back played over 150 times for Town, making 148 appearances in the Championship alone across four seasons.
He joined the club from Danish side Esbjerg fB, where he came through the youth academy in his birth country before going on to play 150 times for the club. He scored six goals and provided 15 assists along the way, helping him earn a move to Ipswich in 2015.
Knudsen has also represented Denmark on the international stage as well. The 26-year-old played for Denmark’s Under-18s, Under-19s, Under-20s and Under-21s, working his way through the young sides before making his debut for the senior team at the age of 21. He has gone on to play six times for the national team, representing them in the 2018 World Cup.
