Nixon tweeted on Sunday morning (see below) that the Saints are looking at moving the striker on this summer after he failed to make an impact on the club’s first-team throughout the 2018/19 season.
SOUTHAMPTON. Will sell Sam Gallagher. BLACKBURN want to buy. May need a sale this summer to do all they want.

Gallagher has been linked with a move to Blackburn frequently after he enjoyed a successful loan spell with the club in the 2016/17 season. Now, with the summer transfer window underway, the Southampton man is being linked once again.
Tony Mowbray is believed to be in the market for a new striker this summer to bring in some back-up for Danny Graham and competition for Ben Brereton. Rovers have also been credited with interest in Everton youngster Bassala Sambou – who previously worked with Mowbray while at Coventry.
Gallagher only played six times for the Southampton first-team over the course of last season, making four substitute appearances in the Premier League.
Rovers will be hoping that if they can bring him back to the club this summer, he can emulate the form he showed in his first spell at Ewood Park. The 23-year-old scoring 12 goals and provided four assists during his time at Ewood Park, the most he has managed in any single campaign.
