Leeds United could get “big money” for midfielder says pundit

At times last season, Leeds United’s football was simply breathtaking to such a degree that it was ridiculous. Sides such as Derby County, West Bro and Stoke were swept aside with aplomb.

There was also that other side of Leeds United, the profligate and laborious side, which threw games away. For this Leeds United look for the performances against Wigan, Brentford and Ipswich at the tail-end of the season.

Changes need to be made to the playing staff at Elland Road, that much is beyond any doubt. On this note, a caveat has been issued by Whites owner Andrea Radrizzani that a ‘difficult’ window lies ahead. Fans. and neutrals alike, have take this to mean plyers only coming in if some go out of the club.

Whilst rumours such as Jack Clarke to Tottenham Hotspur head the column inches, former Leeds striker Noel Whelan names one player that he thinks the Whites could dispense with who’d bring in a “big money” fee – Adam Forshaw.

Writing for Football Insider, Whelan suggested that cashing in on Forshaw could be an excellent move for the Whites that could raise a more than useful fee for any transfer market dealings. More pointedly, Whelan said “We could get big money for Forshaw, I don’t see how his value has gone down. We have not seen the best of him at Leeds and he is one worth considering to sell, definitely.”

It’s obviously going to be a tight transfer window for Leeds United as they look to free up funds for fresh blood. It will be needed as they look to build on the successes of last season. As Whelan suggests, one player who the Whites could cash in on is former Middlesbrough midfielder Forshaw.
