Rangers eyeing up free transfer move for QPR goalkeeper

Rangers are keen on QPR goalkeeper Seny Dieng.

The 24-year-old is out-of-contract at Loftus Road next month and could be on his way to Ibrox, as per a report by West London Sport.

Dieng spent the latter half of last season on loan in the Scottish Premiership with Dundee and must have caught the eye of Steven Gerrard. He made 16 appearances for the Dee in all competitions.

The 6ft 4inc shot stopper started his career in his native Switzerland with spells as a youngster at Red Star Zurich and Grasshoppers. He made his first-team debut aged 17 during a loan spell at Swiss second division side in 2012.

He moved to Germany to join Duisburg for a brief stint there before he signed for QPR in 2016.

Dieng is yet to play for the Hoops’ first-team but has gained plenty of experience out on loan. He spent time in the National League South during the 2017/18 season with Whitehawk and Hampton and Richmond Borough.

He then spent the first half of this campaign on loan in League Two at Stevenage until January before moving up to Scotland to Dundee.

Dieng’s contract is up this summer at QPR and he will have to weigh up his options. The chance to move to Rangers is a good opportunity but he has to consider where he will get the most first-team opportunities.
