Coventry City’s new signing explains why he left Doncaster Rovers

Coventry City have signed goalkeeper Marko Marosi from fellow League One side Doncaster Rovers on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old turned down a contract offer from Donny to join the Sky Blues. He has signed a three-year deal at the Ricoh Arena.

Marosi, who is a former Slovakia Under-21 international, helped Grant McCann’s Doncaster get to the League One Play-Offs this season.

Coventry boss Mark Robins is pleased to have snapped up the shot stopper and has said, as per his sides’ official club website:Marko was a key part of Doncaster’s side that reached the Play-Off Semi-Final, and he will be an important part of our squad as we look to push on next season.

“He is a goalkeeper with a strong presence in the box, a good shot-stopper and can also distribute the ball well, which is vital for the way that we want to play, and we look forward to working with him”

Marosi has said: “It’s a massive club with ambition and they always want to kick on and go higher and higher and that’s the same with me I want to play as high as I possibly can, and I feel like this is the right club.”

One hundred percent this challenge is exciting. I’m excited to come in and work hard and show what I can do and hopefully help the team to achieve our goals. I wish the new season was starting today, I just want to get going. I can’t wait to come back for pre-season and meet all the lads and kick on.”
