Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur linked with West Brom midfielder

Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in West Brom midfielder Rekeem Harper.

The 19-year-old is being tipped for a big future in the game and could be on his way out of the Hawthorns this summer, according to a report by The Scotsman.

Harper, who was born in Birmingham, is out-of-contract next month meaning he will be available on a free transfer. Therefore, he is currently weighing up his options.

The Baggies are desperate to tie him down on a longer contract but face strong competition for his signature.

Harper joined the Albion at the age of 12 and rose through their youth ranks. He was a key player for them at all youth levels and also represented England at both U17 and U19 levels.

He made his first-team debut for West Brom in a Premier League fixture against AFC Bournemouth in August 2017, coming off the bench in the second-half.

Harper was sent out on loan to Blackburn Rovers for part of the 2017/18 season whilst they were in League One to gain some first-team experience.

Since West Brom’s relegation to the Championship, Harper has been involved in their senior set-up and made 23 appearances in the last campaign.

Celtic are in the hunt for some new signings this summer as they look to further assert their dominance in Scotland. They see Harper as a great long-term option and someone who can play in their midfield for many years to come.
