Transfer listed Peterborough United man on the radar of Coventry City

According to the Peterborough Telegraph, Coventry City are keen on goalkeeper Aaron Chapman, who has been placed on the transfer list at fellow League One side Peterborough United.

Peterborough United goalkeeper Aaron Chapman has been deemed surplus to requirements at London Road, and Coventry City are looking to bring the shot-stopper in ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Aaron Chapman was the number one choice at The Posh for the majority of last season, making his placement on the transfer list somewhat of a surprise. He came under criticism from Posh supporters during some of the club’s difficult spells, but still managed to make 32 League One appearances, keeping seven clean sheets.

Now, after joining the club last summer from Accrington Stanley, the 28-year-old is set to move again.

Coventry City are in the market for a new goalkeeper after they confirmed that both Lee Burge and Liam O’Brien will be leaving the club upon the expiry of their contracts with the Sky Blues. And, it has been claimed that have been keeping an eye on Chapman ahead of a possible move for the former Accrington Stanley man this summer.

Chapman has played for Belper Town, Chesterfield, Chester and Bristol Rovers and Accrington Stanley over the course of his career – as well as Posh. But, his most successful spell came during his second stint at Accrington.

The 6ft 7in ‘keeper first joined the club on loan in 2014 before joining on a permanent basis in 2016. In 73 appearances for Stanley, Chapman conceded 79 goals, keeping an impressive 27 clean sheets – 19 of which came in the 2017/18 season, helping him win the League Two golden glove.
