Bristol City receive bids for out-of-favour striker

Bristol City have received bids for striker Mo Eisa.

The 24-year-old only joined the Robins last summer but could be set after just a season at Ashton Gate, as per a report by Gloucestershire Live.

Eisa played just six times for Bristol City this season after an injury-struck first campaign in the Championship.

The Sudanese forward signed for the Robins from League Two side Cheltenham Town in July last year for a fee in the region of £800,000 but the move hasn’t worked out.

He had spells in non-league with the likes of Dartford, Corinthian and Greenwich Borough before Cheltenham took a chance on him in 2017. Eisa impressed in his first season in the Football League and scored 25 goals in all competitions for the Whaddon Road club.

Bristol City boss Lee Johnson has said, as per Gloucestershire Live: “There have been bids in for Mo. We’ll have to make a decision as a club. I do believe in Mo’s talents. There’s a lot of interest in our players at the top end and bottom end. It’s not definite that he’s going to leave.”

“If we don’t see Mo as our 25-goal striker it might be right to let him move on with a hand shake

Eisa hasn’t really been given a real chance by Bristol City and has been unlucky with injuries in his first season. He could still have a lot to give for them so it will be a surprise if he leaves just one year into the three-year contract he signed for them last summer.
