Ipswich Town release ten players including Grant Ward and Jordan Spence

Ipswich Town have released ten players including the likes of Grant Ward and Jordan Spence as confirmed by their club website.

It has been a miserable season for the Tractor Boys as they barely put up a fight as they were relegated from the Sky Bet Championship. While they will be keeping their manager Paul Lambert, it seems like the former Stoke City manager is going to change a lot of things in order to get them back into the second tier of English football.

This has started with a big clear out of players with the club confirming they will be releasing ten players at the end of their contracts this summer. One of the biggest names is to be leaving is Ward, previously seen as one of the best players at the club. But he has been ruled out with injury since December and while he will stay at the club to continue his recovery, he will have to find a new team once that has completed. Spence is another key player who will have to find a new club despite being a regular for Ipswich over the two years he has been there.

The other players departing from Portman Road are Dean Gerken, Tom Adeyemi, Simon Dawkins, Jonas Knudsen, James Collins, Conor McKendry, Chris Smith and Ryley Scott. The first five players have all featured regularly for the team during the time they were there while the last three were youth academy graduates who will now have to find new teams to play for.
