Bournemouth are plotting a move to sign Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips according to a report from the Football Insider.
The Cherries have always looked to sign players from the EFL and have even had success doing it before from Leeds with Lewis Cook making a big money move to the south coast a few years ago. They have already gotten underway in the transfer market this summer having completed a move to sign Lloyd Kelly from Bristol City earlier in the week with the left-back signing for a fee believed to be around £13m.
But Bournemouth are not done signing players from the Sky Bet Championship and having had success signing from Leeds before, they are set to go back to Elland Road for some more shopping. They are now interested in Phillips, a 23-year-old midfielder who has been a star for Leeds since breaking into their first team. He has been especially good this year, even being voted by you as the 31st Best Player in the EFL following his performances this season.
But with Leeds failing to win promotion this season despite a very good season, the Whites lost out in the play-offs in a dramatic match against Derby County, they risk losing talented players like Phillips when Premier League clubs come calling. He may have more loyalty than most because he is an academy graduate but with Bournemouth being a good club for Championship talents to go if they want to play in the Premier League, he may not be able to resist a move.
