Norwich City striker Teemu Pukki has been voted by you as the best player in the EFL.
Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Pukki is the best player in the Football League. This is the first time that he has been on the Top 50 Players countdown.
Earlier on today we talked about Emiliano Buenda being voted as the 5th best player in the EFL. We said the big change which turned them from a mediocre mid-table side into the Sky Bet Championship champions that they are now were their summer signings. Even though they were unknowns and needed a bit of time to bed in before they showed what they were truly capable of. But while Buendia was certainly an excellent signing and player, Pukki was definitely the best deal they made.
The 29-year-old striker arrived from Danish side Brondby with a decent reputation, he had played in the Europa league after all. But while fans were hopeful he’d do well for the Canaries, no one expected him to be one of the best strikers in the Championship. His finishing was unparalleled in the second tier this year and any team facing Norwich knew that if they wanted a chance of winning they’d have to find some way of constraining Pukki. He topped the Championship top scorers chart after scoring 32 goals in 50 appearances this season.
