Top 50 Players of the EFL – 12th: Said Benramha (Brentford)

Brentford winger Said Benramha has been voted by you as the 12th best player in the EFL.

Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Benramha is the 12th best player in the Football League. This is the first time that he has been on the Top 50 Players countdown.

When Neal Maupay was voted as the 19th Best Player in the EFL and we talked about that in his entry, we mentioned how the Bees had this bizarre knack of signing random foreigners who you’ve never heard of and should flop like so many before them. But then they turn out to be something amazing and end up being one of the classiest and best players in the division. Well I hate to repeat myself but that happened again with Benramha.

To almost no fanfare, Brentford signed Benramha from French side Nice in 2018. While he was seen a decent player across the Channel, he struggled to break into the Nice first team and ended up being loaned out to teams such as Angers, Gazelac Ajaccio and Chateauroux. But when he arrived in West London he showed himself to be a fantastic player. The 23-year-old winger tore apart numerous defences in the Sky Bet Championship and Hull City defenders are still having nightmares about the game he had against them. This season, he scored 11 goals in 46 appearances and he hope to continue that next season.
